WPResidence allows you to create a main Blog List Page, add individual Blog Posts, and display blog posts in custom pages using widgets or shortcodes.
The Blog List Page template is used when you want to show a full page with your blog posts. Individual blog posts are created from the WordPress Posts section.
Create the Blog List Page
To create a page that lists your blog posts:
- Go to WP Admin > Pages > Add New.
- Add a page title, for example Blog.
- In the page template settings, select Blog List Page.
- Publish the page.
This page will automatically display your published blog posts.
Set the blog card design
You can choose what card design is used for blog posts in blog lists.
Go to:
Theme Options > Blog > Blog Card Settings
Select the blog card design you want to use and save changes.
Select sidebar for blog archive pages
You can select the sidebar used for blog category/archive pages from:
Theme Options > General > Lists and Layouts
Use the option:
Property Category/Taxonomy and Blog Category/Archive – Select the Sidebar
This option controls which sidebar is used for blog category/archive list pages.

Add a blog post
To add a new blog post:
- Go to WP Admin > Posts > Add Post.
- Add the post title.
- Add the post content.
- Set the featured image from the right panel.
- Select the post category and tags, if needed.
- Click Save or Publish.
Manage the image slider in a blog post
Each blog post can have an image slider. This is managed from the post Appearance Options.
Add images to the blog post slider
Edit the blog post and scroll to:
Appearance Options > Image Slider
Click Upload new image(s) and add the images you want to show in the post slider.
Turn the blog post image slider on or off
To enable or disable the image slider for a blog post, go to:
Appearance Options > Post Settings
Find the option:
Display image slider? (*only for blog posts)
- Select Yes to show the image slider.
- Select No to hide the image slider.
Create a custom single blog post template
WPResidence includes a default single blog post layout.
If you want to fully customize the single blog post design, you can create a custom template with WPResidence Studio Templates and Elementor Free.
This allows you to design the layout for the post title, featured image, content, author box, share buttons, related posts, comments, and navigation.

Blog list shortcodes and Elementor widgets
Besides the Blog List Page template, you can also display blog posts inside custom pages using WPResidence widgets or shortcodes.
Use these when you want to add blog posts inside a homepage, landing page, or Elementor section.
Common options include:
- Items List – use this to display recent blog posts/articles in a list or grid.
- List Properties or Articles by ID – use this to display specific blog posts by ID.
- Items Slider / Content Slider – use this to display blog posts in a slider.
