How to get your license code

Where you find your license code depends on where you bought WPResidence.

If you bought on wpresidence.net

  1. Log in to care.wpestate.org with the account you used at checkout.
  2. Open My Licenses in the left menu.
  3. Copy the license code shown under your WP Residence license.

The same page also shows:

  • Support until – the date your support and updates run to.
  • Whether the license is currently activated on a site, and on which domain.
  • The theme downloads: Download theme (wpresidence.zip only) and Download WP Residence package (full package with child theme and documentation).
Note: Direct purchases do not have an Envato username. You only need the license code.

If you bought on ThemeForest

  • Log in to ThemeForest with your buyer account:
    https://themeforest.net/
  • Go to the Downloads page:
    https://themeforest.net/downloads

  • Find your WPResidence purchase and select
    License Certificate and Purchase Code

  • Open the downloaded text file and copy the buyer code (purchase code).
Note: You will also need your Envato (ThemeForest) username when registering the license.

How to register your license code

Step 1: Install the theme and the WPResidence Core Functionality plugin. How to install the theme and the required plugins

Step 2: Activate WPResidence Core Functionality

Step 3: Refresh the WordPress admin page. While the theme is not registered yet, the license panel appears automatically at the top of your admin pages, including the Dashboard. You do not need to look for a separate menu.

Step 4: Choose where you bought the theme and register. Select the option that matches your purchase. The form changes to ask for the right details.

Step 5: Tick the consent checkbox, then click Register License. If it works you will see You have successfully registered.

Option What to fill in
Purchased on ThemeForest Your ThemeForest Username and your Purchase Code
Purchased on wpresidence.net Your License Key only – the username field disappears

How updates work after registration

  • wpresidence.net licenses – theme updates appear automatically in Dashboard → Updates and under Appearance → Themes. The Envato Market plugin is not needed.
  • ThemeForest licenses – theme updates are delivered through the Envato Market plugin included with the theme. How to update WPResidence and included plugins

License code is already registered for another domain

If you try to register the same license on a second domain, you will see this message:
License code is already registered for other domain.

Why this happens

The license is already active on another website. This applies to both ThemeForest and wpresidence.net licenses, because a license works on one domain at a time. Common situations include:

  • The license was used on a staging/test domain
  • The site was reinstalled without deactivating first
  • A developer activated the license on a different domain
  • The original website is no longer accessible

How to deactivate your license

Important: Always deactivate your license before deleting a website or moving to a new domain. That is much simpler than releasing it afterwards.
Deactivation always happens on the website itself. Whether you bought on ThemeForest or on wpresidence.net, a license is released from the WordPress admin of the domain it is registered on. If you no longer have access to the original domain, you cannot release the license yourself. Open a ticket on care.wpestate.org and include your license code, and our team will verify where it is active and help you release it.
  1. Log in to the WordPress admin of the domain where the license is currently active.
  2. Go to Site Settings → WpResidence License in the left menu.
  3. Open the WpResidence License tab.
  4. Click Deactivate License.
  5. You will see the message Your license has been successfully revoked.

Demo import

After license registration, you can import demo content: https://help.wpresidence.net/article/demo-content-1-click-import-starting-1-15-update/

Invoices, Subscription and Cancelling the Renewal

If you bought directly on wpresidence.net, the payment was processed by Lemon Squeezy. Your orders, invoices, and subscription are managed there, separately from your license and downloads.

Which site do I need?

  • care.wpestate.org – your license code, theme downloads, domain activation, and support tickets.
  • Lemon Squeezy My Orders – invoices and your renewal subscription.

How to log in

  1. Go to app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders.
  2. Enter the email address you used at checkout.
  3. You will receive a sign-in link by email. Open it to access your orders.
Note: There is no password. Access is confirmed by email, so you must use the same email address you bought with. If you no longer have access to that inbox, open a ticket on care.wpestate.org.

What you can do there

Open your WPResidence order to see the order summary, your subscription, and your license. At the bottom of the order you have two buttons:

  • Generate Invoice – produces the invoice for that order. Use this if you need an invoice for your accounting, or need to add company details and a VAT number.
  • Manage Subscription – update your payment method, or cancel the renewal.

How to cancel the recurring payment

A wpresidence.net license is billed once a year. To stop the renewal fee:

  1. Go to app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders and sign in with the same email address you used to buy the theme.
  2. Open your WPResidence order.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the order and click Manage Subscription.
  4. Cancel the subscription there.

The same screen shows your subscription status and a Generate Invoice button if you need an invoice for your accounting.

What happens after you cancel:

  • You are not charged again.
  • Your website keeps working. The license itself does not expire, so the theme continues to run on your domain.
  • When the paid period ends, you stop receiving theme updates, and support ends as well.
Important: Cancelling stops updates and support, not the theme itself. To get updates again later, you will need a new license. The date your current updates and support run to is shown as Support until on the My Licenses page on care.wpestate.org.

Register in client support

Support for WPResidence is handled in one place, whichever way you bought the theme:

https://care.wpestate.org/

Use your license code to register your support account. ThemeForest buyers should also have their Envato buyer username at hand.

If you cannot register the license because it is already used and you do not know where:
Open a ticket on care.wpestate.org and include your license code. Our team can verify where the license is registered and guide you through the next step.

WPResidence license type and domain rule

A WPResidence license works on one domain at a time. This is the same for ThemeForest purchases and for wpresidence.net purchases. To move the theme to another domain, deactivate the license first, then register it on the new domain.

With your license you can:

  • Build a commercial real estate website (agency site, listings site, subscription-based site, booking site, and similar).
  • Charge users for listings, memberships, subscriptions, bookings, or services.

What is not allowed:

  • Using the same license on multiple active domains at the same time
  • Reselling, redistributing, or bundling the theme itself
  • Offering the theme as a downloadable product or website builder

About Extended Licenses

On ThemeForest, WPResidence is sold under a Regular License only. An Extended License is NOT offered for WPResidence.

If you see references online to Extended Licenses, please note that:

  • WPResidence does not provide an Extended License option
  • There is no way to upgrade a WPResidence license to Extended
  • All WPResidence features work fully with the Regular License

If your license shows as already registered, this is not related to license type. It simply means the license is already active on another domain and must be deactivated first.
