The Hero Header is the large visual section displayed below the website menu/header and above the page content. In WPResidence, this area can show an image, Theme Slider, Revolution Slider, map, or video.
This section is managed by the theme’s Hero Media options. It is independent from the page content created with Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg, or another page builder.
The available Hero Media types are:
- Image
- Theme Slider
- Revolution Slider
- Map
- Video
- None
The Hero Media can be set globally for the entire website, or individually for specific pages.

What the Theme Slider does
The Theme Slider is a property slider that displays selected listings in the Hero Media area. It uses the featured images of the properties added to the slider.
Use this option when you want to promote specific properties at the top of your website, such as featured listings, luxury listings, new listings, or important properties you want visitors to notice first.
Where to manage the Theme Slider
Select Theme Slider as Hero Media
Go to:
Theme Options > Header > Hero Media – Theme Slider
From this section, you can manage:
- The properties shown in the Theme Slider
- Properties added by Listing ID
- The auto-cycle speed
- The slider design type
- The slider height
Select properties for the Theme Slider
In Theme Options > Header > Hero Media – Theme Slider, you can select which properties should appear in the header slider.
- You can search and select properties by title.
- The selected properties will be used by the Theme Slider.
- For performance reasons, only the first 50 listings are shown in the autocomplete selector.
Alternative: Enable the slider option from the property edit page
You can also edit a property directly and enable it for the Theme Slider.
Go to:
WP Admin > Properties > Edit Property > Property Details
Enable:
Property in Theme Slider
Add properties by Listing ID
You can also add properties to the Theme Slider by entering their Listing IDs.
Use this option:
Add Properties in Theme Slider by ID. Place here the Listings ID separated by comma.
Example:
123,456,789
- Enter the Listing IDs separated by commas.
- This option is useful when a property does not appear in the autocomplete selector.
Set the slider auto-cycle speed
The option Number of milliseconds before auto cycling an item controls how fast the Theme Slider moves from one slide to the next.
Example:
5000
This means the slider will rotate every 5 seconds.
Choose the slider design type
The Theme Slider includes 3 design types.
Design type 1
Design type 1 displays the selected properties in a large hero slider style.
Design type 2
Design type 2 requires at least 3 selected properties to display correctly.
Design type 3
Design type 3 is built to show the last 4 properties from the properties selected for the Theme Slider.
Set the Theme Slider height
The option Height in px controls the slider height.
- Add the height in pixels if you want a fixed height.
- Enter 0 if you want the slider to display full screen.
Example:
600
This sets the slider height to 600px.
Example:
0
This sets the slider to full screen.
Important notes
- The Hero Media area is independent from Elementor page content.
- The website header/menu is managed separately from Hero Media.
- The Theme Slider is a WPResidence Hero Media option, not an Elementor widget.
- If you want to build the hero with Elementor, set the page Hero Media to None.
- The Theme Slider uses the featured image of each selected property.
- For best results, use large featured images with the same dimensions.
- For slider designs 1 and 2, use images at least 1920px wide.
- Only the first 50 listings are shown in the autocomplete selector for performance reasons.
- If you cannot find a property in the autocomplete selector, add it by Listing ID.
- The Listing ID option overrides the autocomplete property selection.
- Design type 2 needs at least 3 selected properties.
- Design type 3 is built to show the last 4 selected properties.
- The Hero Media can be set globally or individually per page.
