This example is for how to change from Default order to Price High to Low on Taxonomy pages- standard view:

In taxonomy.php file

Look for
'meta_key' => 'prop_featured',
'orderby' => 'meta_value',
'order' => 'DESC',

Replace with
'meta_key' => 'property_price',
'orderby' => 'meta_value_num',
'order' => 'DESC',

Make sure you write PHP, not copy/paste. So you don’t copy wrong formatting.

You also need to remove line 137 :  $prop_selection = wpestate_return_filtered_by_order($args);

Modify in 3 places: line115 , 128 and 136

In templates/property_list_filters.php file  you need to set the default value for the drowdown

All the values are stored in $listing_filter array that looks like this

Array ( [1] => Price High to Low [2] => Price Low to High [3] => Newest first [4] => Oldest first [5] => Bedrooms High to Low [6] => Bedrooms Low to high [7] => Bathrooms High to Low [8] => Bathrooms Low to high [0] => Default )

So to set a new value you just need to add a code like this

$listing_filter=2; and will set the  option Price Low to High as default  (Ex: a value of 5 will set ” Bedrooms High to Low ” as default )
